2019 | Sun

The Sun series contains some of the largest works I have produced. In these works, I envision the fenced in backyard as a place where families share secrets and tell stories. Figures don symbolic homes for protection as they orbit around the fire. The series also references a waterfall my father and I visited during our annual trip to the Great Smoky Mountains. Whereas the yard was a place to tell stories, the waterfall was a place to rest in the perpetual flow of time.

In cases where a work did not perfectly fit the themes of a series, I placed that work according to date. I placed these less related works at the bottom of the page.
